“Born in cold and left to die.
A small baby, hear him cry.

Loved him not, she did not care.
Tell the elves? She did not dare!

Who was he? What was his name?
We won’t say; this is a game.”

When Santa’s true love, Linnea, is kidnapped, he and his loyal High Elf friends embark on an enthralling journey across the perilous lands of Euchaia in a desperate bid to bring her safely home, little realizing that much more is at stake than Linnea’s life.  By the end, the very survival of all High Elves is in jeopardy as Santa makes a fateful choice between his love for her and the destiny of the elves.

In this spellbinding adventure, internationally bestselling author B.C.CHASE taps the furthest reaches of his mesmerizing imagination to weave a suspenseful tale featuring seafaring dwarves, fiery dragons, cultured goblins, and flying elves that culminates in a battle of epic proportions.

Preface

There have been many stories about the life of Santa Claus, but none of them is entirely true and most of them are fantastically false.  The remarkable reality of this wondrous character is not what you might expect: it is a perilous adventure full of the kinds of frightful and extraordinary things one reads about in far-fetched novels authored by dusty old professors with extremely vivid imaginations.  The difference here is that this is not fantasy.  Through an extensive, quite dangerous and very expensive venture I have cataloged all the details.  Thus it is in the following pages that I am able to present, quite faithfully, an accurate narrative of the birth and marvelous triumph of that indomitable spirit who has, through the ages, been the bearer of gifts and magic for young and old and who will always be the greatest champion of that most miraculous of holidays which happily never fails to fall on the 25th of December.  Before I continue, however, I must provide a clear warning: the true story of Santa Claus is perilous, indeed. There are no frolicking reindeer, no jingling elves, no tidy ribbons or bows…  Santa was a hero, and as such his tale is epic.  So if you want to avoid being frightened nearly out of your wits, then do not proceed.  But if it is your wish, I respectfully give you the true story of Santa Claus.
